So much stress coming out of this topic, but well here is my story.


Ok, you see, by nature, on this forum, I tend to speak my mind and everything, so that doesn't exactly make me "quiet".


Well anyways one thing that has been bothering me lately, is the fact that Im quiet when in a large group of people. first off.


We meet these girls one day in town just crusing around, and started talking to them and so forth. Well anyways, even give then saying I do have a GF currently, i still try to talk to other girls. I can only really talk to a couple of them, one is my best friend, and the other is this chick I met 2 months ago. Well last night i was chillin with my friends at one of those chicks house, and out of the blue they asked me why i am quiet, I hadn't spoken a word in 10 mins or more, and they were all talking about me. I was like, Im quiet, because it is how i am. But anyways, it only comes out of the people i DON'T knows mouth, so I guess i have nothing to worry about here. All that matters to me is my GF, and the way she sees me, she likes me the way i am. If people expect me to talk, well I will talk when im asked a question, or i feel i need to give my input in on something, but WHY THE FUCK DOES EVERYONE KEEP SAYING SHIT ABOUT ME BECAUSE IM THIS WAY?

I swear, some people are fucking dumb......

the side of me which makes smalltalk bullshit isnt me, its an act, the real me is usually silent and reserved. With friends i'll talk, but only friends i've known forever and a day. At work I usually dont say a word all night other than about the work.

I just talk when i want to talk, i'll be at a bar sitting with like 10 people all talking, and i'll just sit there and listen, If i want to add something i will, if not i'll keep quiet. ive been called anti-social, shy, reserved, hell my dad says ive got no confidence. I totally see your point, I'll talk when i have something to say, not before, not after.

i'm confident, and i'm damn well not shy. and anti-social? only with people that aren't interesting, my close friends know me as a person who will talk about anything, for any reason. to hell what other people think of me

i think i am the same as many of you that just posted. My ex (may she rot in hell :) ) used to get angry at me because i was not very talkative when we were hanging out with her friends. my only response was that i am sometimes shy and that mabey she could help involve me in the conversation (needless to say the real reason was because she and her friends were all shallow spoiled brats who only talked about themselves, and when we hung out she would ignore me, but that is a different post).
Overall i feel like i have gotten better, but i still prefer to just sit back and listen when in a large crowd of people i don't know.
