Next Car

Hey, I have my next car lined up... it's a '97 Eclipse... RS... I think...
What you guys think a/b this (I posted here, since I have/had a 3s)...

Well, my mom used to have a 97 Eclipse RS. I think it could be a good reliable car and get good gas mileage out of it so as long as its been taken care of. However, don't expect to get any power out of it.

well the power is taken care of... Hahn's turbo charger... lol

I would probably only get a DSM if it was the GSX or GS-T. Let us know how you like it.

well, remember... I have only had a little while to come up with cash... lots ahs been going on... and this deal is below blue book... so it's looking nice and attainable right now...

I went and looked at a '91 Mustang GT awhile back... but that car was $4k... lots of aftermarket... but the carfax results looked kinda funny...

Couldn't find one local... got ripped off on e-bay twice... once on a Supra TT... the last time was a Stealth RT/TT...

ugh, dont buy any car on ebay unless your gonna hand the cash/check to the guy in person with the car there as well lol.....and after youve driven it.

hot damn... the new headgasket looks to be leaking... the car is nice... looks very well-maintained... but the car struggled when I cut on the AC (very cold, BTW)... it might just needthe idle raised, but the check engine light was on the whole time, and then started flashing... and white smoke/water came outta the tailpipe

yeah, I found out a/b the whole ebay thing... they do NOT hold money until the car has shipped... for future reference...

Hah, the car came back yesterday... door handle replaced... and it drove perfectly... The aforementioned problem was water....

When the engine was detailed, there was standing water in the engine compartment... specifically on the spark plug plenum... all the car needed was a tuneup and some sun (to dry off)

They're good cars, but unless it's the GSX or GS-T they don't have much of an aftermarket for them unless you plan on ricing it out(FAST N FURIOUS BIAATCH). Fun cars to drive though :-D I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Just to let you know... I didn't send any money to them... I used ebay's help to determine that they were both frauds...

Well, I'm not sure yet... the car is pretty nimble and quick already... I'm gonna look around... I'm definitely turboing... at least a stage I (mostly sound, 50-60 hp gain)...

I'd like to have an extremely fast car, and have made huge plans... but looking at the check book, it prolly won't happen

actually, the 420A has a bit more aftermarket than I thought... I wasn't really up to date on my Eclipse engines... I was hoping that it was the 4g63, but I had doubts... though everything is pretty cheap for this car (thank God), at least compared the Stealth

Well if you want to go fast you should buy an eclipse gst or gsx.

^^ If your going that route on a budget I would get a Talon TSi seeing as how its the same car and is cheaper.

Maybe 1g Talons look better. 2g the Eclipse looks worlds better.

yeah, I think I'm sticking with the one I have... nice looking body and all... I think my car's stock... but in the 1/4... I made it to a/b 90... the Stealth was only making it to 95 (when I first got it)... it has the 420A engine BTW (Eclipse)
