Alright Where Do I Start.first Off I Own A 1995 Eagle Talon Esi Non-turbo 2.0 Engine With Automatic Transmission And Over Drive.my Problem Is That I Was Driving My Car One Day And I Felt A Hard Jerk.well My Tranny Like Locked In Some Gear And At 3000 Rpms I Couldn't Go Over Thirty Miles An Hour.i Could But I Dont Want To Put The Stress On The Engine.so I Pulled Over And Got Help Well I Had Shut The Car Off And Re-started It When Someone Got There.well It Drove And Shifted Perfectly.this Started In The Summer.so I Took It To The Shop And They Had Me Drive Around Until It Did It Again So They Could Run Some Codes While It Happened.well The Code Picked Up Some External Part Box Like Thing On The Outside Of The Tranny.so I Took It Home And Not Even Half Way Home The Tranny Messed Up Again.same Problem.so The Box Thing{?sorry I'm A Girl So Bare With Me Please}wasn't The Problem.well I Parked The Car And Drove My Honda.then As It Got Cold Out I Drove It And No Problem.all Winter It Was Fine.well Now It's Getting Warm And The Problem Is Back Again.if You Push The Over Drive Button It Dont Do Anything When This Problem Occurs.if You Pull Over And Shut The Car Off And Turn It Back On The Trannys Fine Again.this Does This Up Hill, Down Hill, when I Stop In The Middle Of Acceleration And Any Speed Im At.so Just Whenever It Wants.my Question Is Is It Temperture Related?computer Problems?maybe A Sensor?i Had A Break Job Done On My Car About 4 Months After Owning It And That's When This Started Happening.could The Breaks Have Anything To Do With It?i Have Went Everywhere And Called Everywhere And No One Has Heard Of This Problem Ever.if Anyone On Here Has An Answer Please Let Me Know.i'd Greatly Appreciate Any Help I Can Get On This.i Don't Want To Buy A New Tranny If It's A Sensor Or Something.

I think your transmission was slipping and couldn't lock onto a gear. If it happens again while driving, try putting the car into neutral and rev it a little bit and then put it into drive, It should grab the right gear this time. That was my experience with my buddie's auto Talon. He tends to.. do hard launches lol. Plus one time, we were driving about 45m/h and he accidently put the car in park and I heard the scariest grinding ever. Right after that, it would be stuck on one gear, so I sat in the drivers seat and tried it out. I think maybe when you shut the car off, it gave your transmission time to catch the right gear, so that's why it started working after.
If it happens again though, put it into neutral and pull over to the side of the road. Leave it in neutral and rev it a little bit, and then put it into drive and let it idle to see if it moves forward. If it doesn't, repeat the steps again and it should work :)
