Cranks but will not start

1996 Olds Cutlass Cierra with 3.1 L engine. In morning engine will crank but will not start. Fuel rail pressure is at 46 psi while cranking and hold 42 psi after engine crank stopped indicating fuel supply is good. Checked spark with spark tester and cylinder 1, 3, and 5 all have excellent spark. Have not tested injectors yet because, by afternoon the car will start normal. Can run it all day shutting down and restarting fine. Using OBDII tester finds no code. When tester is first connected and ignitions switch moved to start the engine information downloads and then the tester reports it lost connection with the computer.

I have pulled the computer fuse to reset the computer and this will not cause it to start, but the next morning the car will start normal and run fine all day, then the next day it will not start. After it sets several hours, without doing anything it will start.

I am about to change out the computer, but not sure this is the cause, nor why it even started doing this.

Changing the computer will eliminate it as a source of the problem. This sounds like either a bad ground or ignition switch. Check the ground for the computer and make sure it is solid. You may want to change the ignition switch (key cylinder) in the steering column as the contacts may be worn to the point where it is not making good contact.
