whats up laydeez and fellaz
my problem is i have a 1997 lincoln continental and on the info center it always says the there is a door open, I mean I can sit and slam the doors until my arms get tired but the results are the same and in turn makes my interior lights stay on so i have to pull the fuse so they stay off. hard to choke choke chief with the lights on.:smokin: you dig so if you can help me out it would be much appreciated thanx.

Get some blue bulbs... :)


Does this problem change when the brake pedal switch is activated? I saw another post somewhere where the BOO affected the problem, but the ultimate cure was to replace BOTH front door handle/switch assemblies.

The diagnosis took several weeks of tracing current's... :(

I had same problem....easy fix buy a can of WD-40 and spray latches....open and shut doors about 5-6 times (to work grease into latch) and then never worry about it again it should shut off every time...At least for me

Hi John,
Which latches did you have to spray? I heard the switches are inside the door mounted to the latch/handle assembly.

just the visible ones on outside of door that is why u open and close door to work it in...that was in may worked fine ever since
