changing alternator

my girlfriend's maxima is acting up when she has the a/c on and comes to a complete stop after driving for a while. all her lights becomes really dim and her abs light comes on. i think it's the alternator. how hard is it to get to the alternator of a 96 maxima? can anyone give me a procedure on how to get at it and from what angle?

I found out on the .org there's an upcoming recall next month to replace the alternator for Max's that were manufactured b/w 2/97 - 2/98, here is the post:
