OK so my engine was fishing for an idle after I replaced my stock turbo, with a stock turbo lol. But when the weird Idle fishing started I decided to take off my Throttle body and clean it and also replace my spark plugs. After that was done I cleaned out my engine (BADDD IDEA AGIAN I THINK) I used degreeser and a pressure washer at a car wash.... well now like a couple days later its idling at like uhhhh 3k rms! and I decided to replace my Idle Control Valve, and the car did ok for about 3 minutes then did it agian.... and ontop of it all when its idleing high im getitng like no boost. My gauge is saying 10 psi but you can tell its not there at all. Any ideas guys? I dont want to take this one to a professional thats expencive. If anyone lives around the texas panhandle or dalllas and wants to take a trip up here id pay for some shit, but throw ideas im all ears.

Check for a boost leak that could cause problems ith idle. You say you have 10 psi at ide? You should have more like 10 psi of vacuum at idle.

actually idle should be ~15in/hg depending on elevation. :iagree: probably a boost leak, definatly air getting in somewhere where it shouldnt be

Sounds like a possible boost leak... Pressure test your system.

No i have -25 vac at idle, it goes up to 10 psi when im driving, buttt my stock gauge goes up slower than the aftermarket one, like only in 5th gear will it go all the way to the + sign. But how do I do a boost leak, or is there a way to find a map of my vac hoses so I can make sure they are done correctly?

Stock gauge=crap. Pay no attention to it. Where is your aftermarket sourced from? boost leak tester.....search this site, or go www.vfaq.com.

holy shit, you should idle at 25in/hg unless you were at an extremely high elevation or you had some major restrications on air flow
