What wrong with my fift gear ??

Well most of you know that, I bought a 94 eclipse 5 speed ( 4 speed, no fift ).
It was ok to run around with out 5 gear for a week. Now Im feel that I need fift gear really bad, cause I cant go no more then 45mph :banghead:. I can shift to 5 gear but it grind so bad that I have to put it back to 4. It wont catch to fift. Do I need to rebuild the tranny ? ( I really dont want spend alot of money on this car, about 240sx ( that my friend gonna drop in for me s14-s15, with s15 front bumper and tail light conver, with pain new color for $300. Total every thing about 4k ). that hella deal right there. But I love eclipse so much that Im gonna keep my goal SEARCHING FOR A 97-99 GST-GSX - 97-98 TSI AWD :naughty: .

sounds like you have a bad synchro

few week ago I drain out the tranny fluid, guess how much I drain out ? 1 FICKING Quart ! :banghead: !!. Then I put in 2 quart of pennzoil syncomesh. It shift better a little now. So my sync bad, what do I do now ? rebuild ??

probably. If its not grabbing its either not going into gear all the way or your synchronizer is bad. Its not very likely that its the gear itself but its hard to say without hearing it first hand

it go in all the way, then 2 second later it grind so bad that I have no choice but to put it into 4. How much is to fix the synco ??

How can you not go faster than 45??? 4th gear's top speed is like 114

when I go over 45mph, the rpg is at around 3k ( the engine want me to shift to fift gear ) and it eat alot of gas, so I try to go under 45mph.

I'm pretty sure I go under 45 for 1/8 of a second after the light turn green...
