after driving my passport, i turn off the engine and get out. i smell a burning oil smell as i shut the door--and even as i walk around the back. i check under the hood and i can't see any leaking (yet). the oil cap is on tight. i don't smell any oil burning from under the hood.

i check my oil every saturday as i know about the oil issues we all have.

any places i should be looking that may be notorious for leaking or producing the smell?

Check down in the sparkplug wells. Prolly just some oil in there. Common on this type of setup. My 2002 always gave off a burning rubber smell from the engine compartment. Never could trace it to anything.:uhoh:

I can smell oil in my Rodeo when I drive at times. I have no idea where it's comming from.
