I know northwest offroad has everything you need from bellhousing adapters to the wiring harness. I considered doing that, so I found a lot of information about it but decided not to do it because I can't afford it. Anyway, NWOR was the place with everything.

i have done a 1982 4x4.you will have the IFS to deal with instead of solid axel. i used TCK,& advanced adapters and recommend them. i installed a small block chevy with 350 a/t behind it . used adapter motor mounts, transfer adpt. plate,& power steer bracket.worked out great.the toy. running gear held up great , even pulling 38-18 swampers .i used it on and off road and it was one great ride. if i wear building a everyday drive i would have to look at the 4.3 v6. same motor as v-8 but2 less cyl. = more room up from for radiator.they are getting great hp's& super bottom end power. good luck. i know i miss my old toy.getting ready to start on 85 for son.reliving the old days

I haven't done the swap myself, but I have researched it some. From what I've found, the 302 is the top choice for a v8 swap. It fits better than a 350. It's narrower and the distributor is in the front, so you don't have problems with firewall clearance.

Good Luck with the project.

is there any other web site besides northwestoffroad
and advanced adpters.com for v8 conversions

I don't think so, besides maybe peoples personal pages.

I think Northwest gets a lot of there adapter parts from advance. I ordered the northwest catalog from their website so I could have the prices. Everything is expensive, but I think that's the nature of the beast. However, the catalog was worth it. I can kill hours looking at all the stuff I want.

i also ordered their catalog but i wont get it for about a week. i think advanced website is confusing and i couldny fiind a 84 302 bellhousing adapter

to bad advanced doesnt have a ford 302 bellhousing adapter. and northwest is charging 600 for it. i was hoping to do this swap for cheap. im getting a 302 and the radiator for 100 from a friend it runs good but burns alittle oil so were going to tear it down clean it and replace the rings and anything else that needs it. if that dam adapter didnt cost much i could do this swap for like 300 bucks. witch is cheap. but since it coust so much it will probably wil cost like 800 or more

Yeah, that's why I didn't do it. I don't think there is any way to do it for less than $1500, even after you have the motor. It's just that kind of job.

Search for Novak Engineering or Enterprises. They make a line of adapters for conversions and may have what you need.
