Speaker Replacement

I have a 98 Contour 2.0 L and think my right rear speaker is blown in the door. I was wondering if there is a way I can look at the speaker to see if it is in fact blown or not. I looked a the door and was hoping to just snap off the speaker cover but hesitated because i didn't want to break something.
I noticed screws in door carpet cover and took those out. Also took out the one screw in the door lock/window button area. and also the screw in the door cup. I tried to remove the door cover but still felt pretty secure. I removed the cup and could barely see the speaker. I think the door is still caught on the door lock/window button area. I know there is some type of wireing that goes on there but not sure how to get around it.
If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated. Thanks

if you still have any problems let me know i redid my entire stereo speakers and all in my 97. kinda obnoxious but nothing too hard... they like to hide screws inside the door handles :shakehead
