I was thinking about replacing my tps this week but i know you have recalibrate the air/fuel mixture somehow......... my question is my friend told me that if i disconect the battery and then replace the tps, the tps should recalibrate itself using the computer and its stock specs.......... i was just wondering if there was any truth to this........ thanks for the help guys

I did this on my old S10 p/u. I don't recall disconnecting the battery. I believe I just swaped the sensors out.

I thought you disconnected the battery cable as a precautionary step........ Im just hoping the computer recalibrates the tps back to stock so I wont have to take it somewhere and they'll have to calibrate it for me and cost me more $$$$

Leave the battery alone.
All you need is to have the key off and just put it on and go.
Why are you replacing it to start with?
Has it got a problem?
