hello i got a 99 plate auto clio the car is driving only backward n not going forward at all.the gear nob is changing to all position but car not moving.can anyone help n plz does anyone know were i can find the starter motor in the engine.thanks

If the feel of the gear nob is as it has been, i.e. has not detached from the gear box (and this is not likely), my guess is you could have a serious situation with your transmission.

Basically, the only thing you can do is check your transmission fluid level. If that is ok, you need a mechanic. If your fluid level is too low or non existant, you need not only to fill up, but also find out why it ended up that way. Check for leaks.

The starter motor is attaced to the outside of the engine, often in a low position. I don't mean to sound harsh, but if you don't know where the starter motor is, you should get a Haynes manual or similar. It will be worth its weight in gold.
