Alright, this just happend about 15 minutes ago while I was heading back to our house from the grocery store. I'm heading west on a double lane near US-81 and I spot a silver Mazda 6 ahead of me. I see its a guy with some girl and the car must have been recntly purchased because it was still in-transit
So I pull up next to him and were each doing about 35mph and I wait and wait for him to do something. I dont know why but I like the other person to make a move first. So he finally guns it and I do likewise. We stay dead even until we get to a curve in the 45mph zone and he is in the inside lane so he had about 5 feet on me and we continued as he took that curve much better than I'd expected. We are now going straight agian and I began to edge past him now at surprisingly steady pace. We are now up to about 85 and realize we have to shut it down because there was a light coming up. After that I role down my window (b/c otherwise you cant hardly see me) and give him a thumbs up and he does likewise. To be honest, I still cant believe how well he went around that curve. It looked like it handled pretty damn well for a sedan. And so here I am now still shaking with adrenaline because I really havent done much of that stuff at all since my last speeding ticket.:icon16:

Nice kill. Do you know if it was auto or manual? Cause there is one at my school that is a manual and seems pretty quick. They are nice cars. Good job.

^^No, to be honest I dont know. We were heading into a curve and constantly going faster so I was just paying attention to the road ahead. Yes , they are fast, especially for a sedan. To be honest I was a little surprised I pulled on him.

I was just checking the stock specs of a Mazda 6 and it said 0-60 was like 6.3. I would think he would have been able to pull on me? I saw there was a 4 cyl option though which was like 7.6 0-60 which still isnt bad. I'm not sure which one it was but it did have the dual exhaust.

I've never heard of a turboed 6. All that came up when I searched it was the 6 cyl and 4 cyl which neither were really slow especially the 4 cyl in a mid-sized sedan.

yeah, I've raced a 6 (in my SOHC)... it was pretty quick... I was only a/b 3/4 throttle all the way up to 120 (toying with him)... then I gunned it and left him... I stopped climbing at 145... stock tires started shaking...

^^^I'm actuall surprised a SOHC can hang with one. Good kill though. It wasnt an easy kill for me and my DOHC runs well on highway runs. Mabye it was the turbo.
