96 F 250 E40D issues

:banghead: Good Day, ive got a 96 F250 xtra cab long bed tow package with a ill e40d out of the blue it started NOT wanting to shift from 1st into sec. and when i kick down it jumps into first,.. it will shift if i release peddal long enuf...help any suggestions before i trash a tranny.. i must drive every day thanks Dean:smokin:http://phatdaddyclothing.com

Could be many things. My first thought is valve body is bad, or damaged.
Could also be bearings inside the tranny.
Solutions:
-Have tranny rebuilt
-Do it yourself (Thus taking apart tranny/ including bell housing, pan, valve body, etc)
-Trash tranny
-Drive it till it takes a shit

This can be caused by a blown fuse.
Check your owner's guide, and ALL the fuses both under dash and under hood.
If they are all good, then it could be simply that the shift solenoid went bad, and they are replaceable w/o anything more then removing the pan and wire harness.
