Well, I was working on dropping the tranny and I was on the passenger side driveaxle...I was making great time, tranny out be out tomorrow, but as Im prying towards myself ( BIG BIG mistake, never do this ) the pry bar slipped from the cv joint and the curved end of the pry bar hit me square in the forehead. I was at the hospital for 2 hours, no stitches because my skin completely closed up nicely but this means no work on my car for a few days, and an inch long scar above my left eye.

Those axles do suck to take out... You would think there was a better way to do it... Glad no major injury happened though.
Well, when ya do try again. Put a socket down there behind the prybar and use it as leverage and push AWAY from yourself. It seems to work pretty good doing it that way.

Take a picture, I would love to see how funny it looks. I could see myself throwing the crowbar through the wall if it happened to me though, I lose my temper really easily when I'm having a tough time on my car.

I got a scar above my right eye from something stupid if it makes you feel better. I was drilling through 1/2 inch thick steel platring with a HUGE drill when the bit caught and the foot long handle swung around and opened me up........21 stitches. from the middle of my right eyebrow to my cheek. ALWAYS were safety glasses, my eyeball would have been on the florr if i hadnt been wearing them

Holy shit, I know what it's like to have the drill catch and swing like that but I never thought something like that would happen.
Glad your alright sganc4life_4, I would be pissed as hell if that happened to me. I've noticed that the only time that I ever have to work on my car is when it is freezing out and I'm not in a garage, so if I catch my knuckle or cut my arm on something it really doesn't hurt for a while cause it's soo cold.

there is an easier way, If you still have the stocker CV axels, A slide hammer, 20 bucks from autozone, and you get it back when you give the slide hammer back, if you don't have a stocker, like me (bad expierence) You have to weld stuff on to the cup and have the hammer pull from there.

Never fucked myself up that bad. Just the normal cuts and scrapes. I usually dont know when it happens just why my hand or whatever is bloody. When I was checking my ECU I cut my hand without knowing and it was just about completely covered in blood when I finally saw it. Motocross/mechanics gloves work awesome for keeping your hands in decent shape.

I usually notice the blood when my hand feels wet, then I notice the cut then it hurts. Shitty way to find out that you just cut yourself.
