New long-term project, gonna really take my time with this one. I got the really good Slixx decals for this car, gonna turn out great.
Problem is, the only NASCAR kits for 1st gen Monte Carlos are ultra-rare high-priced collector's items, so I gotta work with a factory Monte Carlo and cut it up. This won't be my first time doing that though :icon16:

I've built a couple of these and never noticed this! I don't know if AMT did this by accident, or if it's actually from the old stockcar mold. If you look closely you can see a mold line that closely follows the rear wheelwell opening for the *stockcar* version. So I took the trusty dremel out, and now the wheelwells look perfect! Here it is with wheelwells done, trim and door handles removed.

Top half of the paint job on. I'm gonna put the red on after this dries, then put the decals on, then clear all of it.
