I am looking into buying a Cat back exhaust system for my 2002 grand prix GT. 3.8 liter. NON-Supercharged. I like Flowmaster but I heard that some flowmaster exhaust systems can actually hurt the performance. I want it to be pretty loud. I was going to go with the 40 series flowmaster. So I was wondering what type of exhaust system would be good for performance and a deep rumble sound? I currently have intake and a reprogrammed PCM. ALso I was looking into getting some kind of HI FLOW Cat, any suggestions?

IMO the best all around aftermarket CAT convertor is Magnaflow. They come in 2.25, 2.5 and 3.0 OD in/oulet. Cost $55 with shipping on EBay. I'm not a fan of CATBack systems due to a lack of performance benefits, however, great for sound....the muffler part that is.

Ok. is that just a hi flow magnaflow CAT? or is there like a part name or something for it? So you think i'll be fine if I get the magnaflow CAT, do a Resonator and Ubend delete, and put on my FLowmaster mufflers? Will I get any type of performance out of that? or is it just for sound? thanks
Would this one be good?

Nothing special we just refer to the brand name. I'm running one on my GTP along with 2.5" OD custom exhaust. I have the 2.5" inlet and outlets. Make sure you get one without the air tube pictured like the one in your EBay link. This is the company I did business with:

The Magnaflow Hi-flow CAT, u bend and resonator delete will be a good combination. The hp gain will be in this area plus if you decide to go to bigger exhaust pipe plumbing. Remember the stock is only 2.25". You can go up to 2.5" (recommended) or even 3.0".
You will have both a performance increase plus good sound with the Flowmasters. :bigthumb:
