Just got an `87 classic ls and there`s two things I can`t indentify.
One is when I turn the key on I hear a clicking noise from under the hood.
It continues for about 30 sec. before it stops.....what`s that?
The other thing is four stainlees steel lines coming out of the exhaust man.
on the drivers side and they converg into a comman line forward of the air cleaner.....what`s their purpose? The engine is a 305 4bbl.
Thanks.

#1 - Underhood clicking when key turned on is probably the M/C solenoid on the carburetor. Normal.
#2 - this is the AIR (Air Injection Reaction) manifold (think smog pump). The smog pump located under the alternator pumps air through hoses into two of these (one on the passenger side too).
