hello everyone, im from holland, and i need to know some things about engine wiring.

i bought a CRX delsol with a friedD16Z6 engine, i can get my hand on a virgin cheap good D16Y8 complete front cut, so i'm planning to swap the y8engine+geabox+computer etc. to my Z6 chassis, some gearheads told me it wont be a difficult swap, but there will be some wiring problems te sort out,(ignition wiring for example)
can someone explain to me what kind wiring mathers ill need to transfer from the y8 front cut (or place new wires) to the Z6 chassis.??

and does somone know some digital wiring schedules on the web for delsol's with D16Z6 and Y8 engines on the webb?

thanx from holland,
ill send yall some drugs as thanx ;-)

You should just use the z6 ECU (p28), so you won't have to buy an OBD1 to OBD2 conversion harness (to plug in the ECU; different plugs). And because you won't need to wire in the second O2 sensor (and I believe the y8 has a knock sensor as well, and the z6 doesn't). You'll need to swap 2 wires from one of the plugs on the z6 distributor into the 1 plug on the y8 (the z6 has 2 plugs and the y8 has 1). Here's a pic of what I'm talking about with the distributor plugs (6th post down and the 1st and 2nd pics on that post): http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=550976 You also may have to change out the voltage regulators of the alternators, because the plugs are different; but I'm not sure if you can just use the entire z6 alternator or not (someone else help me on that one please).

Can you send me the drugs now? :D

The y8 harness won't work because it's too different. It goes from the engine, through the firewall, and straight to the ECU. Where the stock z6 one has a harness for the engine, then that harness plugs into another harness (that other harness goes through the firewall into the ECU). But you'll need the plug for the distributor off the y8 harness, so it is worth having.

Sure you can send it in a sea container, send me a girl from the red light district too if you can ;)

hey, a'm starting the swap soon, and am bussy whit the wiring, and i was wondering what actually is the difference, there are 3 big plugs bolted to the chassis (engine wiring ->to main cabling loom(for distributor and sensors i think) and 3 plugs on the right side of the engine (engine wiring-> to main cabling loom(for injectors i think)

now the situation, the plugs of the Y8 wil plobably fit in the Z6 main cabling plugs.
so what has to be changed xactly ?

i did noticed that on one of the 3 big plugs on the y8 engine there are 2 pins missing,
what to do about that,
and WHERE THE FUCK CAN A DUTCHMAN GET A WIRING DIAGRAM?
thanks for replying \

do you have msn??
