hi everyone :icon16:. im new here and i have a question about my 91 e30 318is (sorry if this is a repost). i need to replace my exhaust and im having trouble finding one. at this point i found a cheap header on ebay for 200 bucks (not sure who makes it but its new) and a supersprint muffler from autowerks.com for 725 bucks. do any of you know what kind of hp improvements i can expect from this? id appreciate if anyone can give me any information. im also looking for a short shifter. does anyone recommend anything? I want an evoIII short shifter but it’s a bit expensive, (325 bucks from autowerks.com) any suggestions? thanks in advance

He he quality parts. Around 15-22 hp max. Not for it to me. Quality parts thoug.
A question: who pays $725 for a muffler?
A flowmaster muffler will do the same for less money and will sound even better. Dont want flowmaster-buy Borla, but $725 is f*cking crazy

thanks for the reply. i didnt know flowmaster or borla even made one for my car ! i agree 725 bucks is way too much to pay but like i said it was all i could find. thats why i asked the knowledgeable people at automotive forums too help. does anyone out there have a setup like this? if so im sure it must be a custom setup because niether company lists any products for my car on thier website.
also, i live in las vegas so if anyone out there can recomend a good muffler shop in my area that would be great.

Borla has the best sound. A universal muffler goes for $250-300. I dont recomend buying a rice muffler, cause BMWs are not rice. You need someone who will weld stuff nicely on there, so to a someone you know. I can do things like at home. It takes premadrel bent dynomax tubing, some saw, and a MIG (gas welder)- i can weld pretty much any custom system, have lotsa time and patience, but the shops are paid per hour and they usualy do crap. SO you need a person, not a shop.

thanks for the advice. i found a reputable shop with 30 plus years in exhausts. they are going to build me a custom flowmaster set up for 280 bucks (an incredible deal considering everyother shop estimated about $400-1000). im going to have it done tomorrow so ill let you all know how it works out. the only thing ive learned about this experience is that it is very important to shop auround. many mechanics try to take advantage of you if you look young (which i do).
