Problem with Idle 99 Rodeo

Inadvertently the engine will race, sitting at a full stop, or in park up to 3k RPM. I already cleaned out the egr valve and the CEL isn't on. Any ideas what might be causing this? 65000 miles.

Might be the intake manifold gasket. Some tech can determine a hissing sound in the engine suggesting a vacuum. Erratic idle, engine stall on stop, etc were symptoms of IMG failure.

dont know if you figured it out yet if not dont mess with intake gaskets find the wire that goes to the power steering pressure switch its on a bracket right behond the P/S pump once you have found it disconnect the connector.
the reason it runs up to abot 2500 rpm is because of debris in the switch it does not need to be connected will not cause a cell light to come on its only there to boost idle when turning, like this engine is in need of this..
