i want to get a kit but i know a few people that say if they would have known that you had to drive like an old lady to have it on a car they wouldn't have bothered with a kit.

i don't drive like a crazy man but like anyone who likes a little speed and cuts a few people off i'm no different so i was wondering does anyone with a kit have parking problems, speed bumps, etc....

i don't want to get a great looking kit then go park at burger king and rip off my whole front bumper ya know what i'm sayin'???

Well if you drive like and idiot and hit curbs or cut people of u shouldnt be driving in the first place. When you get your kit you can get either fiberglass or urethane. Fiberglass kits are alsways cheaper and come in many styles, but they arent as strong as urethane kits. So if you hit a curb there a good chance it will crack, however they are quite easy to fix if you know what your doing. Urethane kits are expensive and dont come in as many styles as in fiberglass. But they are more durable as they are made from the same shit as your stock bumpers. Basically its the same with everything if you care for it then youll have no problems. Good luck.

Speeding and cutting ppl off have nothing to do with your bodykit. And you don't have to drive like a granny. The only thing you need to do is not hit the curb, which you shouldn't do anyways if you want your $1000+ rims and tires to last any decent amount of time, and avoid pulling into driveways and stuff with steep curbs. Just take them at an angle and you'll be fine. If you want that bling look of a kit then you can't drive like an idiot.

get urathane and it wont matter as much fiberglass falls apart if you look at it wrong

i have no problem with my body kit ....and my car is lowered too.. when i go to my fathers appt. i have to go over speed bumps and the kit never hits the bumps ...you do have to be more carefull with the car but i think its worth it ...you should be carefull anyways

thanx guys for all the input i will start looking into the non fiberglass kits to see if i find them any better or worth the cash yeah i have rims on the car so i stay far away from curbs, potholes, etc....
and i'm not trying to smash my whole shit up i worked hard for it and have spent too much money to drive like an ass it would kill the idea of trying to hook-up a car.

i don't want to lower the car so i guess keeping the stock height will help me out on those speed bumps if anyone comes across any websites that talk about those different types of kits that would be cool if you could put a link or something in your reply.

and one last question: about how much have you guys paid for your kits total price including paint and putting it on i got some quotes around $700 for a full kit (front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts) but thats unpainted and i can probably put the kit on or get a friends help but if anyone doesn't mind sharing that info. i'd appreciate it.

Beat this: I got a full buddy club on ebay for $600 shipped. I paid $100 for 1 quart of Harvard Blue with primer and clear. Had a friend spray it for free. Installed it myself. Spent $3 on bolts to hold it up, $5 in gutter gaurd mesh and $2 on rustoleum spray paint. :)

sounds like you guys made out good so i guess $600 isn't bad i still want to look at the difference between the fiberglass and the other type thats stronger. and i'm not sure but i think the one i got that $600 price for was probably fiberglass.

and rice-rocketeer i may be in contact with you about how you managed to pull that off.

no its like 450 us.
The reason i said dont buy it off ebay is cause those kits are usually cracked or wont fit properly. Or even worse u might get scammed and get nothing at all.

There's nothing wrong with ordering off ebay when you're trying to save money. Just don't expect a Veilside kit. Yeah it had a few minor cracks and didn't fit perfectly in the rear and sides. So what does anyone who wants to save money do in that situation? Fix it yourself :) I pulled out the dremel and started trimmit, cutting, etc. Then I went to walmart and picked up fiberglass cloth and some resin and fixed cracks and added where it needed. Then I strengthened the bolt holes and the front lip so if and when I smashed it against the curb or something, it wouldn't shatter. Then I had my friend spray it. And Viola, everyone now thinks I'm rich cause they think I paid someone $1200 + the cost of the kit to put it on. :bloated:
