blinkers not blinking

I have a 97 blazer and recently my blinkers quit working as I pulled up to a stoplight and used my turn signal to turn left. It blinked twice and quit. I checked the fuse and it was good. I replaced the flasher under the dash and that did not work either. When I engage the turn signal no lights come on at all. In the past when my blinker as gone out the turn signal would still come on but not have an intermittent flash. My hazard flashers still work so I know that all the bulbs are not burned out. Can some one point me in another direction? I am lost, short of pulling the steering wheel column apart and replacing the turn signal assembly.

How about trailer wiring harness , If you have one . Remove it and try them again . Some of them plug inline either inside a rear quarter panel or under the bumper . They have electronics in their box converters . Rob

2 units back there - 1 for the flashers and one for the blinkers I believe so did you replace the correct one - switch them and see if the trouble reverses then you know. In fact the flashers work on the brake lights and the blinkers have separate bulbs or at least filaments.

Actually I did check to make sure that I had the correct flasher. When I removed what I figured was the bad flasher I checked to make sure my hazard flashers still worked.
