Will my car go 'stupid'?

I am going to change the battery in my 2002 Intrigue soon. My question is - will this car go 'stupid' after replacing the battery? Will it have to be re-learned like some GM cars? I seem to remember that some cars needed to be relearned after replacing ignition modules, etc

Thanks,
Karl

I have disconnected my battery many times. You will need to reset your clock and radio presets most likely.

well with quite a few new cars it will. it isnt a fun thing to make it relearn. i would rather be safe then sorry, so you can get a memory saver which is like a little 9volt battery that plugs into the cig lighter. we done that in the shop, but we mostly had another battery we could have hooked up, with jumper cables, to the terminals. we removed the terminals from the battery, dropped in the new battery, tighten the terminals down, then removed the jumper cables.

I've disconnected my battery before and there were no problems. All I had to do was reset the clock - the radio even kept presets! In the owners manual it says to pull the battery if the car will sit for over a certain period of time. They wouldn't say to pull the batt if things had to be relearned.
