im looking for a muffler for my car, to do a custom exhaust. Anyone know anything about carbon fiber mufflers http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Muffler-Straight-Tip-Carbon-Fiber-Factory-Tuned-NIB_W0QQitemZ8014502585QQcategoryZ33636QQrdZ1QQcmd ZViewItem

or any other suggestions? and don't say a full exhaust because im not paying 500+, for a catback

Unless you don't mind your exhaust sounding like a pissed off bee in a tin can I would not recommend getting any straight through muffler. If you can see straight through the inside you will get a real ricey loud exhaust, as opposed to a larger muffler that has a twist or bend inside that will give you a deeper sound.

it depends on the car really. my car has a straight through muffler and doesnt sound ricey at all. ive gotten many compliments consisting of "that sounds really good for a 4 cylinder."

I recomend a MAC muffler, the least amount of back pressure, but they're also designed be to really quite. They are also smaller than most mufflers. So if you don't mind getting a quite muffler I'd go with the MAC they can get pricey though. They basically charge by how big the inlet size is, I think for 2.5" inlet mufflers cost $150~175. http://macmuffler.com/ They're located in Canada, but last time I talk to them I think they said they will ship to USA.

some generic muffler off ebay. i only paid 20 bucks for it including shipping. i was scared it would sound bad but it didnt. you really dont need an expensive muffler on a celica(5th gen) cause it already has an extra resonater. my exaust is not load it just sounds good. like a more aggressive stock sound. i even gutted my cat abd it still sounds excellent, even better than before.
