maintenance light wont turn off

i've had my 96 integra ls for about a year and a half, and ever since i got the car my maintenance light has been on, and i've run tests on it at autozone to see where the problem was coming from, but nothing told us what the cause was. does anyone know what the problem could be? i know its not a short or anything.

my light is flasshing on and off 10 times when i start it, but if you just wanna get it off reach down by your knee and theres a little black box bout 3 inches wide..push tht button and hold it in while you turn the ignition from off-on-of-start car thn let go of butten tht resets it

mine has been on for 30,000 miles. i never got my 150,000 mile service. its just like a reminder. you shouldnt worry about it. check engine is the one you dont want to come on.
