Any 1 have a alternator picture?

...I'm trying to figure out what this 3rd wire is on it(theres 2 connecters and then this one is "L" shaped and covered in a rubber hose with a copper looking "o" shapped piece inside). Its hanging off my alternator and I think a little plastic piece(maybe plug) is cracked. Probably why my car feels like it is ready to stall out when I rev it up(actually did yesterday) and drop it right away. Plus when I hit the gas..my dash lights brighten a bit. Might have knocked into it when I threw my heatshields back on. I dont know but I checked vfaq and didnt find a good picture of the wires and where they connect and all. Just trying to figure this out. Thanks for any pictures or help. I'd post pic's but I dont have access to a camera now and plus my comp sucks. Tryna get a new one this summer.

I can post a pic tomorrow maybe but I'll look on mine and see if I can figure out what your talking about. Could be the voltage regulator. One wire should be hooked to a stud in the alternator case, IIRC one clips on towards the top but thats all I can think of at the moment

I'll take a look in the shop manual and see what it says. I can't find the disk right now but i'll post it as soon as i know, sorry.

I looked today and my alternator only has 1 wire and 1 plug on it

Found out where it goes, comes off the power stearing and runs underneatch the alternator. Tossed it back on. It didnt change anything noticable.

You know after I posted I thought maybe thats the one you were talking about but I wasnt sure because I didnt consider that to be apart of the alternator. Glad you found it though

Yea..well it was at night when I noticed it hanging and part of my alternator plug like i said is cracked. So I just guessed. Anways.. yea w/e wire that was..it goes to the power steering. Thanks for thee help.
