good deal?

Ok, I know a guy who wants to sell me his 92 talon tsi AWD for $700. the head is off the motor and the slave cylinder and the turbo are missing. the reaer wheel have no brake shoes, and it needs tires. the body is razor straight and the interior is immaculate. does this sound like a good deal for a project? My buddy has most of the parts kicking around at his shop, and the guy said it ran fine when he tore it apart. you can still see the cross-etching in the cylinder walls. thanks for the help guys

yah, I mean just as long as you understand it's a project car, how many miles and crap are on it. A turbo DSM is a turbo DSM, just as long as you got the cash lol.

Seems like a lot for everything that is missing. If you want to spend the money, go for it.

The car itself has 136k on it. I think the engine has been rebuilt once before though, because like i said, you can still see the etching on the cylinder walls. the stuff thats missing is cheap parts, brakes-Planned on getting upgraded ones. slave cylinder-$20 turbo- T3 off e-bay for about $150. the guy didnt butcher it when he pulled it apart either, hes an auto mechanic so he knows what hes doing. with the engine thats in this car thoug, i could turn around and sell it agin for what i had into it. Quick question....My little sisters eclipse is a 92 also...but its a automatic GS. do they have the same motor?? thanks again

Yes they have the same motor, but her's has a little higher compression. I recommend you go back with a mitsu turbo, T3 is not a direct bolt on. 14b or 16g is what you should be looking at.:2cents: Grab it man, and if you can't figure out what you are doing, I will take it off your hands for what you pay for it.:smooch:

hah, no im not thinking about stealing my sisters motor. hers is all ripped appart right now anyway. she scored the crank cause she ran off the road and poked a hole in the oil pan and didnt tell anyone till it was too late. dads got a new crank on order. but definitly gonna grab it. i told the guy yesterday to hold it for me untill next week when i got the cash up.
