although i'm more of an alpine fan, i would have to say the audiobahn, simply because they can get loud, while still retaining sound quality. but if loudness doesn't matter THAT much, i say go for the alpine.

I'll speak up and say go with the Audiobahn. I don't know why. I've never heard Audiobahn or Alpine subs, and I've never known anyone that's owned them either. Audiobahn, thats just a cool name isn't it?

i have 2 12" Type R DVC in my car and love them, as long as you tune your amps right like i did, i can run them full power without any distortion. Although ive never heard or have even seen anyone with audiobahn subs i cant make a comparo, but i love my Type R's.

I realize this is a bit late...

Personally, I've heard the Type-R's and the Audiobahn's. Whatever you get, you more than likely are not gonna be disapointed. If you really want sound quality i would stick with the Alpine. I think that the audiobahn hits a bit harder and looks a hell of a lot more bad ass, especially with the chrome grill. However, if you have an Alpine head unit u should definetly put ur money toward the type-R.

just my two cents

I've got 2 10" Alpine Type-R's and they sound niiiiiice. They dont hit as hard as some subs i've heard, but who wants to be goin down the street with their trunk rattling like shit and lookin like a dumbass who just invested $100 in some lightning audio subs at best buy?? I personally love my type-r's, they have excellent sound and i wouldn't have anything else. :sun:

well, you're criteria are SO loose ... it's a hard one. I don't know that I would use either of those choices. I would probably be looking at an Infinity perfect 10 or a JL 10W3, but that's just me.
