The dumbass at GM that came up with the U Bend should be shot... Okay Anyways I gotta ask do you see any increase in HP if you do the U Bend replacement? If so how much?

Not really any gains with just the u-bend delete alone, but it frees up the exhaust and makes a big difference when combined with other mods.

Some dude with nothing better to do actually ran dyno tests with and without a ubend. Claims a lb or two on torque and maybe a few hp.
That section of exhaust pipe was designed that way to protect the 02 sensor.
Personally, I don't buy it but I would do the u-bend delete if you still have it. Especially if you plan on more exhaust mods in the future. Nothing to lose.

Yeah, its cool. One of our GP forum enthusiasts had a bunch of them like it. He used to joke around quite a bit. But sorry to say he just passed away this month. His name was KustomKid54 (Rip). But his memory lives on.

i believe if you are planning on replacing your pcm with an aftermarket from dhp or intense, then you should do the delete. the pcm comes programmed to work on a car that has that exhaust mod at a minimum. if nothing else, you may get a little better mileage.

Yeah, he will be missed.
Here is the original version of the graphic. He hated Riceburners and Ricers.
