We changed the fuel pump and still nothing.. We cant hear it running, the pump that is. We changed the saftey switch in the trunk. So is there a reason for not getting power to the pump? Maybe a fuseable link? Any suggestion?:banghead: :screwy: :crying:

Was the old pump bad?? Or you just couldn't hear it come on??? Not sure, but possibly there may be a relay for the pump in the integrated controller(correct name??) relay box that sits on top of your radiator, I had an 87 Taurus, I believe there were several relays in that box for various components, maybe another on here could check, I have no details for sure.

see if you can get the motor of the old pump to turn just by applying outside power something small and safe like a 9 volt

There is a relay for the fuel pump in the Constant Control Relay Module (CCRM). You may wish to review www.members.aol.com/Rod2414738/Car_Stuff/CCRM-1.jpg and www.members.aol.com/Rod2414738/Car_Stuff/CCRM-2.jpg for diagrams.
Do you actually know that you are not getting voltage to the pump (by using a meter and measuring)?
