I went out to my 99' GTP today to pull something out of the back seat
(2 door) and noticed the floor was wet. So I pulled back some of the carpet and see that there is nearly an inch of sitting water...It has seemed to soak through the car. The only place there was sitting water was in the backseat floorboard(mainly on the passenger side of the car). It has been sitting for the last few months because I've been using my Civic. Anyone have an idea what might have caused that much water build up?

What you have is the remains of your poor car crying her eyes out. Everyday she sees you coming out and getting into a riceburner and paying no attention to her. One of these days stop by her and run your hand down her fender to let her know you still think of her, or better yet take her out once in a while.
Remember Grand Prixs have feelings too.

I pulled the seats out and the carpet back, then soaked up all the water. Looks like the water came from the passenger side dash. Dunno how to fix the problem though. Any tips??

There is a seal under the passenger side cowl that is known to leak in our cars. You'll have to remove the wiper arms to get the cowl panel out of the way so you can fix it. If you install a cabin air filter, it makes a better seal and keeps debris out of your blower motor housing. For whatever reason, GM decided Grand Prix's didn't need a cabin air filter, where her sister car, The Buick REgal, comes with one. The place is there for it, so go to an auto parts store and ask for one for a 99 Regal (they won't have a listing for a 99 GTP). It will fit perfectly and help prevent more water from getting in.

Thanks for the help. I went back out today after it stopped raining only to find more water inside...So I guess im off to drain n dry it again, then hopefully put a stop to it.

Once you take the nut off, you may need to wiggle the arm a little to free it from the shaft. They are a tapered spined shaft, and can get a little stuck.

I tried to get them off but they're both still stuck....

After fixing the problem I find my battery died while I was working on the car.So I go to replace it with an extra i had charged. After taking the old one out i had the postive cable screw fall out....and now its nowhere ot be found.
Would anyone know where i can find a replacement for that because it looks like im not going to find the screw i dropped....:banghead:

Seems like I'm having pretty bad luck with this......

Most major auto parts stores should have them. I know I got an extended pos. termanal screw (to wire on accessories) for my 95 S-10, GM's all use the same. It was only a few bucks.
