As promised here are some pictures and descriptions of how I did it.
Started off like this
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d161/BoosTSi/rims.jpg
Then I sprayed them down with some "sircraft coating remover"(extremely harsh stuff, will eat anything and everything off of the metal including your hands) then after scraping, sanding and sandblasting the looked like this

Then I spent 2 hours a rim sanding them smooth and then I put the first coats of primer and paint on today

I still need to clear them and finish polishing up the lip and then I'll post the finished product on the car. I used dupli-color primer and black enamal spray paint and dulpli-color high gloss rim clear coat. What do you guys think?

Dude that looks sick. What kind of rims are those?

They resemble the SSR GT3's to an extent. The GT3's have a nice big ass rear lip. But still those rims are hot.

Good Job.

they are exel dl-46's. I always though of exel as a cheap off brand of rims untill I did the math and my rims with cheap nankang tires cost $400 more than the comperable tenzo-r rims with bfg's so I guess there is something to be said about that

Thats cool. Lets just hope you dont scratch the paint on the spokes when sanding the lip. That would make you want to do this: :banghead:

Also, what about the inside part of the rim...like behind the spokes, are you going to paint that also or polish or what?
