from what I've read in the last 2 minutes the AGP RS49T seems to be a good turbo and would support your goal

Externally gated 20g. I would actually get something different, but of those I would get the 20g. I'm after a dual bb PTE turbo. Theres a 50 trim and 60-1, not sure which one I will be getting, but I would suggest probably the 50 trim one.

I'd go with the externally gated 20G, it will support your goal and its a sollid proven turbo.;)

hmm... people! VOTE! God, dont you like being part of a democracy?!? no but for real, VOTE damn't! and to those who did, thank you! but i want to know what really is the better choice... so the more votes, the more accurate...

everyone seems to be leaning tword the 20g... but what about the 50 trim? i thought that could flow more air, but spool just as soon... anyone?

I voted for the AGP RS49T (38mm externally Gated) I think you have more room for error so to speak with that

yeha, tahts what i think i'm going to get... but i guess i must have over looked the pros to the 20g...

I've heard that the 20g isnt the best choice

yeah, but keven picked the 20g... which i was supprised about, and now i'm really second guessing the 50 trim...

well I would say that you should consider price including supporting mods and figure out which one will fit your budget better

SBR 60-1, I think they said they got 555whp out of it, so 400 shouldnt be too big of a deal. Its also like $100 cheaper. I think thats what I will get once the Big 16g gets old.

i dont want to hassle with the lagg the 60-1 gets... i want to hit full boost by about 3500, 4k at the most... and over 20psi...

The 20g will flow 48-49 lbs/min, the 50 trim will do 50. About the same power capacity. Spool is similar. Lately I like to avoid hybrids and stick to a solid unit that is ordered directly from the manufacturer, no turbo shop tinkering. I like to go full mitsu or full garret. I'm getting lazy in my old age or something...
The 60-1 shouldn't even be mentioned in the same conversation at 60+ lbs/min ;)
The EVO3 is nearly as good and quite a bit cheaper at ~42-43 lbs/min, but getting 400 on it requires it to be completely maxed out, and tuned to within an inch of its life. If you really want 400 the 50trim/20g will do it a little more comfortably.

20g's are just so damn expensive. AGP RS49 internal... Or a PTE BB SCM 50trim..

why you lean twords the internal gate? isnt external better? I think i'm going to go with the 50 trim, and DNP's 16G External Dump manifold/o2 combo, and tial 38mm Waste gate. sound good? this should cover my power goals, and also, give me a little room for error... (hopefully none, but I am only human) Please people, i have to get $2K @ $7.50 an hour, starting from $400, so keep voiting and taking here, I really REALLY would like the get the best setup i can. Also, keven, what do you think about this specific set up? I will be running DSMlink, with FIC 950cc's and 93 oct. gas...

You want to be externally gated. It will make your life much easier.;)

yeah thats what i always thoght too, also does it matter where to mount the waste gate? Manifold or o2? i heard its more like, personal preference...I'm thinking on going with the manifold Dump... any input on this?

Search for it under Kevin's name, I remember him going over this. I dont exactly remember why, but he said go manifold dump.

It's best to attach the WG to close to the flange where all of the runners come together. If you cant do that a lot of people gate the #1 runner.

Yes, I prefer the manifold dump. The o2 dump setups work, but the exhaust has to still take the torturous stock path to the gate raising the minimum boost you can run. It may still be below what you need to run, but on large turbos it can be a problem. Even on GT35R sized turbos my 38mm gate venting the colector could hold 13 psi (spring pressure) to redline. Might have even worked for the T67, but I went to a 20 psi spring. The angle at which you attach the WG is also important. My SFP manifold runs the WG off the front of the collector, so all four runners give the exhaust a straight shot from the head port to the WG valve.
The only real advantage I see to the O2 mounted setups is ease of returning the WG exhaust to into the main exhaust. Noise concerns are perfectly valid, and if this is an issue O2 mounted is the way to go.
