How much boost can you get away with running on a stock GST(have access to an upgraded computer for a 20g turbo PIP, head, and larger fuel injectors)?
For a friend, he thanks you in advance. :bandit:

Boost is not relevent, CFMs are (Cubic Feet per Minute). For example, 25 psi on a 14b is no where near 15 psi on a mutt level 3, or else no one would buy a new turbo. For the 20G, and I am assuming your question is how much the stock engine can handle, you can probably get over 20 psi on the stock internals with the right tuning. I'm not sure on the flow ratings for the 20G, but a stock 4G63 can handle around 450 horsepower.

As long as you have the proper electronics to control your injectors (I recommend the Apex-i S-AFC) and you either monitor your O2 voltage or better yet your EGT's you can run as much boost as your car can handle. The stock MAS on the 2G can only meter airflow to support 400 horsepower; anything over that and you'll have to go with the HKS VPC. But in your case you should be fine, the 20g turbo hits the top of its efficiency range just shy of 400 horse and can be pushed a dab further. Again, since every motor is different only careful tuning will tell you the max safe boost you can run.
(On the stock T-25 with the stock 450cc injectors don't go over 16psi, you can spike it a little at lower rpms [around 3000-3500] but anything higher than that is asking for a detonated piston)

Is Josh finally going to do something to his car? It's about time, lol.

Yeah, he made a manual boost controller :)

This is probably obvious, but don't forget that you'll have to get an aftermarket BOV to handle the higher boost, since the crappy stocker leaks anything over about 12 PSI.

Yep, my bud knew about that problem already, but thanks for the heads up. Somethin about the spring inside the stock BOV being way too soft. Anywho, aftermarket BOV on the way for him.

Yeah I saw him the other night. He didn't say anything about a manual boost controller though. Did he make one like the guy at the SCCA? I haven't even ridden in his car yet, I bet it rides really nice now that he got the sus.

He tried making one like on the RX7, but apparently placement and operation are different than the manual boost controller he was supposed to make for his Eclipse. We cranked the RX7 style rigged controller up and cranked it all the way up and all the way down little by little and not a damned thing ever happened Wasted 90min of my life for nothing! :) bwhahaha! He ended up finding blueprints on the net for a manual boost controller for his Eclipse. Supposedly it works, he just needs a new BOV to handle the boost. His car rides pretty nice, its damned low too--I think its time for some rims though :D
Me and Matt and the Joshes and everyone are gonna pool up some $$ to get a racing helmet for the SCCA races, wanna put in? We're gonna buy a nice helmet and we'll ghetto it out with ricey stickers from all our brands of cars--then, of course, we will pimp the ghetto.<--note period
You guys still going to Hot Import Nights?

Heck no, because Travis's brother bailed out on us and he is the only way we can get Hotel res. sux being 18. I plan on going to the next SCCA, I won't have a job so I am sure I won't be working that Sunday.
