i took out my butterfly plate and the screen in the dpfi set up just for kicks...im doing a zc swap soon thats why i didint just convert to mpfi cuz im doing it with the swap...n e way the car is so wierd...like in low rpms its the slowest car ive ever been in in my whole entire life but when it hits like 3000-4000 rpms it kicks.. its freakin strange i dunno what it is but the car is def. quicker...sounds better and gets the same gas mileage so everyone with a DPFI looking for a free cheap mod take out the screen in the dpfi black cover thingy.(great part description i know) and the take the first plate out above the tb plate. i do not think im fast by any means... but its def a lil more peppy ill say. cant wait to do my zc swap at the end of may gotta great deal on the motor and im just itching to get it in

shit i felt most difference when i had dx is when i took off the entire black lid and advanced timing all the way.. it was like one of the loudest badass sounds when i was crusing and all u would hear is the air sucking into the lil 1 inch TB

he means the baffle plate right at the intake hoses feed to the TB. I did the same about a month into owning the car and loved the increase. I also took the filter box bottom off and mounted the filter right to the cover by switching the screws around so the clamp part holds onto the filter, plus i ran a 1" high 8" wide shop vac attachment mounted just under the front bumper chin for alittle air scoop with the 3" hose running upto the filter area through the hole that the CAI would go through. I did that set up on my friends civic cuz he had the bumper with no foglight cutouts in the corners but mine did so i just ductaped the 3" hose to the back of the foglight hole and ran it through to the filter area but leaving a 6" gap from the filter to the hose. Car had great pickup but would top out at like 95, then i put the MPFI and it worked out sweetly, not to mention the custom cams i put in after that.

you guys can't be serious, that plate helps create turbulance which is good.

But it also inhibates flow, so if you want a quick rush of air it wont help that but it will help your car save gas.

i did that to my car, it sounded sweet and gave a little more power but after a while made my car run like shit, i put it back in and the car ran a hell of alot better
