1990 Lebaron - Lost key to trunk - Help

I bought this car from a gentleman that only had the valet key and I need the trunk key. The wire mechanism is now broke as my daughter told me she could not close trunk and she moved the latch to the open position, closed the trunk and ever since, the wire mechanism on the drivers side floor will no longer open the trunk. I need to get it opened.

I figure I have two options: A) see if the dealer can provide a key if I provide the VIN, or B) see a locksmith

Anyone have else have any ideas?

The two you've stated are the best ones. The only other suggestions are messy and no guarantee of success with the result of a mangled car. :p

Thanks for the info. Note I searched high and low for the original key and I found it in my junk drawer. I spoke to a locksmith that told me he would have drilled it out or made a key if I had not found the key. Sometimes you get lucky !!!! Lucky me.

 :naughty:

yeah, i was going to say if she movedthe lever on the trunk, she may have engaged the lock-out feature.

Just a side note for this topic. If you need a keyand, if you can get access to the car remove the passenger door lock and take it to the dealeror a car key cutter. There should be a key number/pattern stamped on it.

Give the car vin number to dealer parts and almost any dealer can make a key from it.
