I got a 83 mustang 351w 4 barrel and I was at the junkyard the other day and I found this really nice nice nice 302 out of a lincoln mark VIII and its fuel injected. If I wanted to put that motor in my mustang could I do that simply by pulling the computer, wiring harness, motor from the lincoln and installing it in the mustang. I was thinking about keeping my c4 I got on it. Would that be a problem for the computer? Or should I just get the motor and hook it up to my trans and take it to a place and get one installed instead of trying to use the stock one out of the lincoln. Ive had a couple of mustangs and I like my 351w but It rubs on my front sway bar, rubs on the steering knuckle and there is a hole in the bottle of the oil dipstick tube that slings it everywhere. I had another mustang which I loved with a passion. It had a 302 just like the one in the lincoln from what ive heard. If I where to switch it over could I use the same headers? I dont chop cars up alot. This is kinda my first attempt. Is there anything else I could use? If the fuel injected 302 isnt a feasable could I go get me an intake for a carb and switch my edlebrock from my 351 over and have a carbed 302 with a roller? Thats honestly the only problem I have with the 351. I got use to my roller motor. Gimme some feedback. Please.
