Paint job - original color vs. new color

I want to repaint my car, to have brand new paint and to cover up the black plastic parts (handles, mirrors, license plate, etc).

The car is currently blue-green/Paradise Isle, which is pretty nice for a factory color. But I would like a nice light blue or something.

Someone told me I should stick with the original color because it's more expensive with a totally different color, because we have to removes the plastics on the doors and the door frames (even maybe do stuff under the hood/trunk).

Thank you

if you want to do a different color, go for it. If you want it to look like it's never been painted then you'll have to paint the door jams, engine bay, under the hood, in the trunk, and things like that. You can just have it painted and leave all that stuff the original color and it would still look good. It will be a little bit extra to do all the stuff I listed above. I think if they did it the original color then they wouldn't paint all that stuff cause it's more work to do it. So that is why they would charge more to do a different color. :)
