I have a 2000 RX300 that I just bought and I decided to go with the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs instead of upgrading to HID. They do look awesome and they are bright! There are other brands out there that claim to be brighter as well, but can't say for sure because I haven't seen them. Total cost - $80
Good luck with the RX300 dude.

I have the same model too, and I just finished a retrofit the hella bixenon projectors (those used in bmw and mercedes and audi) and the HID headlights. I got the whole set for only 420usd (not including the wiring harness and other small things). It looks really cool and bright but it takes lots of effort to do it if you want to do it yourself and It's worth it(at least me and my friends think so).

Since my last post above, I've gone ahead and installed a 6000k HID retrofit kit into my RX300 and man is it awesome! The silverstars have a nice look to them and they are much better than any other halogen bulb, but they are not HID or anything even close! HID's are the only way to go IMHO.
Match826, that's the ultimate way to go and I thought of doing that myself but I need my headlights everyday and can't do without them so I went ahead with the retrofit instead. I'd be interested to see your results. Send me an email if you can with any pics if you can.

its just better to have the true factory hid lights i love it when you are takeing a turn and the lights follow the road or when you go up a steep hill the lights point higher or if your going down the hill the lights point lower. BiG PIMPIN!
