Could someone Please help me.

I've been meaning to change my interior from beige to black w/purple trim. and i've met some serious problems so far. I looked through the yellow pages for custom and interior shops. every shop i talked to did not seem interested in doing an interior. so next step what salvage yards. Even though i see about 10 to 20 integra's a day. none of them said they even had a wrecked integra from '94 to '00. the dealership will only sell new panels and such. and they said that painting will only chip and peel. so i'm asking everyone for help. any suggestions?

I don't know what to tell you. I'm sure if you show someone some green they will do it for you. As for doing it yourself, you could if you take the right steps and take your time. Best of luck to ya.

Yeah doing it yourself would be alot cheaper, all you would have to do is sand what ever you want to paint then prime it. After that do a very lite sand again and paint it with interior paint(found in most automotive places). Also if you want a really shiny interior put some clear cloat on. If you aren't satisfied with the paint job you can sand and paint as many times as you want until you have the perfect interior for you. It cost me about $35.95 for all the materials to paint my interior blue and white! I think 35 dollars is better than paying someone else to paint it for 50-100 dollars to paint it.

I think 50-100 to have someone else paint it would be a steal! You won't find anybody with rates that low!

So do it yourself, but take your time!

Each piece I painted, I did the following:

Remove the piece from the car.
Wash with soapy water (to remove excess dirt).
Sand with 320 grit paper.
Swab with rubbing alcohol (to remove traces of Armoral).
Wash with soapy water (to remove rubbing alcohol residue).
* at this point, I do my best to avoid handling the pieces by the. surfaces you intend to paint, so that the oils from your fingers don't get on them *
Mask off any areas you don't want paint on.
Apply 2-3 coats of primer, sanded between coats (use LIGHT sprays to avoid runs!).
Sand last coat of primer with 320 grit.
Apply 3-4 coats of Krylon interior paint, let dry for 24 hours.
Apply 3-4 coats of Crystal Clear Enamel (I used Rustoleum). This will give it a nice glossy finish, and will help prevent chipping and wear.
Let dry for 24 hours.

When cleaning the painted parts, do not use any kind of solvent.

well i haven't given up yet. I would like to paint it but first off i suck with spray paint. second i don't want it to chip and such. i also would like to see out of my windshield without a glair from the clear coat. but i would like to know if the doors and dash are cover with vinal?
