Stuck Key

We have a 98 Mirage that we had new keys cut at a dealer about 2 months ago. The key became stuck in the ignition. I know about positioning the wheel and all but it still won't come out. Is there something about the shifter position that won't let it release the key? Is there an adjustment that needs to be made? I couldn't find a Haynes manual to fiure it out so any help is appreciated.
