I just replaced this same pulley three months ago! My wife was just driving and the whole pulley just snapped off! The replacement was hell getting into place (could not reach the bolt!) So now the same pulley is squealing really bad again as if it's going to let go again. I'm really worried as this is our only form of transportation at the moment. Is this a common problem? and is there any easier way to reach that bolt if I need to replace it again? Any help would be greatly apprecieated! Thanks in advance. :banghead:

When you say you replaced the tensioner pulley, did you replace the entire tensioner assembly (tensioner and pulley together) or just the pulley and bearing?

The pulley can be replaced separate from the tensioner itself. I replaced the both the tensioner pulley and idler pulley on my 1998 T&C with 3.8 last summer. The pulleys were identical and I bought two new pulley kits for $17 each. To replace, I merely removed the belt and unscrewed the center axle bolt for each pulley. A five minute job. What bolt are you having trouble with?

it was actually the tension arm and pulley! I found that I could not get to one of the bolts with out having my son actully climb under the van an reach in from behind the motor. I was thinking there has to be a easier way. But if I can locate just the pulley and I can change it I will do that A.S.A.P! I will let you know Thanks for your reply!
