I just purchased a 98 Camero, 3800, auto transmission, 71000 miles.
The care runs great, but a few weeks ago while going up a hill, the car hickuped several times. Now it does it under load up all hills. It happens at speeds above 40 MPH. Anyone have any ideas where to start looking for the problem? Any ideas would be appreciated. thanks

Did you have a have a full tank of gas when it happened? Maybe its not getting enough fuel at these thimes of high load because the fuel is moving around in the tank...just a thought.

Secondary ignition breaking down(plugs, wires etc.)...do a tune-up. if already done and still wont go away. Then look into fuel(fuel pressure, filter)could be something simple as a good tank of bad gas?.maybe got the bottom of the barrel??.

Anytime you buy a used car, refresh everything, it will tell you alot about how the car has lived it's life and what to expect down the road. Also if anybody has done anythign to 'rig' it for saiel, gear oil in the motor to quiet up a knock for example.

Oh, I don't know if your going to have an easy time finding parts for your Camero tho, you might want to have them look it up under Camaro
