I want to install a new hood on my car and I'm trying to decide which is better. Carbon fiber or fiberglass.

Other than the huge difference in price, which one is actually better. Some people here will probably try tell me it's all personal preferrence. I want to know if there's a difference in weight, durability, etc.

Between the two cf is the only way to go. FG in any application is just crap if you ask me. About the only thing fg is good for is custom interior pieces to an extent and some audio components. Other then those its just crap.

Ok thanks. At least the carbon fiber will look good with the new paint job I'm going to do on it in about 2 months. I'm taking it from silver to a dark metallic blue.

Just wish the hood I was looking at didn't cost $900 US nevermind shipping to Canada.:banghead:

Won't be getting that for a few months anyways.

There is nothing wrong with fiberglass, its light, cheap and relatively strong if done right. But carbon fiber is superior in that it weighs considerably less and is quite a bit stronger.
