Hey guys-

I was looking in the direction for installing an apex safc-2 into my v6 tibby. I was wondering if anyone could point me in some direction, because it dosent have our cars in it... i think? I have a wideband o2 too that i need to install so I can tune myself! I'm kinda new to the fuel tuning part of moding so if anyone could link me up with some pages on how to that would be great! Install or tune or both!!! The directions are kinda crazy...

Later, Ryan

p.s. Nisco- the Safc-2 ordered from boostology came... but a little late. took them like 4-5 weeks i think. The owner was nice though on the phone!

lol, i was just getting on to say i found it on new tiburon finaly... same post. weird. Thanks though man! Another thing i was worried about was the fact that the stock ecu might learn around the safc2 in order to make the A/F ratio more rich(safe) again...? I herd somewhere that the safc2 dosent open up and do much untill the higher rpm range... is this true?

Im starting to have second thoughts about this tuner...

The Safc2 is nothing more then a MAF minipulator. Their is no way for the ECU short or long term fuel trims to reajust to the "actual" airflow HZ if it can't read them..

Simply put, the SAFC2 intersepts the HZ signal from the mass airflow sensor and lets you tell the PCM & ECU what airflow signal you want it to read. Thats why you have +/-50% RPM based ajustable settings. Don't bother logging the knock on it, it's useless.

Get a wideband and www.pocketlogger.com "pocket logger" or the safc2 is relitivly worthless as a tuning tool. Narrowband o2's ossolate and are accurate between .49v - .52v. You need a wideband that is accurate to 1.3v - .3v. And please don't buy an A/F gauge, just a techedge or PLX-M series Wideband... Techedge wideband o2's can be found at your audi dealer for $26.. Most other wideband bosh style o2s are around $60-$120..

Your logger will be key in your safc success, even more so then the wideband. You need to accurately see whats those safc2 setting are doing to your engine. The most important are timing, rpm, airflow, o2 (only if you don't have a wideband).. Reamber, your tuning for timing! Timing is power!

The trick is to figure out the diffrrent fuel enrichment map "per" timing map... you'll have to figure that one out, or find a guru 3g tib company that is willing to share the info... I don't have a tib, or I would know and tell you...

Thank so much for all of the info... I have a AEM Wideband(digital and anolog). Its got the bosch sensor with it... It retails for like 400 for something but i got it for alot less. From what ive read, seams like its pretty reliable and acurate. I have more to say about this stuff, but i forgot for now. Ttyl man.
