Engine sputters over 3000 rpm

I have changed plugs/wires fuel pump o2 sensors to no avail. I put on a new nut kit. Engine still looses power over 3000 rpm. When in park you can red line the engine. Could it be a coil or cam or map sensor. No codes show up.

Similar experience in my 96 s10, after 120K miles. When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? Clogged filter may pass enough fuel at low RPM but starve the engine on higher demand.

Get your catalytic converter checked. I know this seems unlikely, but I had mine bogging down so bad I could only do 20MPH. But once in park it would rev right up. Had to replace the MAF sensor, which was blamed for the failed cat. I had the resonator removed and a new cat installed. Huuuuuuge improvement. I also get about 280m to the tank now whereas before only 230ish.

Check output of your throttle position sensor.

Did you replace the cpi injector?

What is the fuel pressure?
