1998 Golf GTI

Hey guys I found a 1998 Golf GTI for $8500 CANADIAN which is about $7300 American. The car is a 2.0 4 cyl, gas, 5 speed, 2dr black with black cloth, ABS, A/C, sunroof, cd, keyless entry, alloy rims, tinted windows, new tires, stainless steel performance exhaust, and has 120,000 km which is rought 60,000 miles. Is it worth it? the car appears to be in mint condition.

Sounds well worth it for a 98. I have a 95 with all of that but my A/C doesn't work and my sunroof doesn't either. It is also a salvaged car and people have offered about 4,000 (USD) for it.

try checking out autotrader or cars.com for comparables. Thats the way I checked mine out. I find this way a lot more accurate that KBB.com or edmunds.

I found it by chance at a new car dealer here in Michigan. The car was a trade in and the previous owner bought it new (only one owner).

1997 Golf Hatch, 5 speed, sunroof, great condition 109,000miles. 3,800$

I'll admit that I didnt get the best deal on it but its soo hard to find anything but shitty american cars (escort, taurus, tempo etc.) here in detroit. Finding it took about 3 weeks of steady searching.

There were many times when I thought of settling for something else. But Im glad I didnt.
