Wiring Question

I recently looked under my hood to check everything over and saw a couple of wires had come unplug. They are located near the passenger-side firewall and the colors are purple and yellow. There is not much slack and it doesnt seem to reach anything to be plugged into. This is on a 1998 Chevy Malibu 3.1L V6 Any help?

So both wires are in same connector? Most likely either the vehicle speed sensor off the transmission or Crankshaft Position Sensor.

Both are kind of important. However without a Crankshaft Position Sensor your vehicle probably wouldn't even start..
